The movie based on true story of King George VI of the United Kingdom and his lifelong struggle to overcome his speech impediment. His wife hires an Australian speech therapist Lionel Logue in order to help him.

The movie tells a story about a friendship between the King and Lionel and historical events of that time. It was really pleasant to see it. Colin Firth was amazing as King George – you can really see how great actor he is. Really worth see it.

Books

‘4.50 from Paddington’ by Agatha Christie

Publish date: 1957

Genre:  Crime novel

450paddington

It was the first book written by Agatha Christie, I read. After reading it, I reached for the next one eagerly.

The woman on the way to her friend, Miss Marple – the amateur detective, is witness to a murder. She sees through the window that someone is strangling another woman. The body was not found, so the police do not believe the story. Miss Marple begins an investigation that leads to a series of new murders. Our detective sends her friend, Lucy Eyelesbarrow, to hire herself in the house of suspects. While working as a maid, Lucy reports exactly what is happening in the house, what allows to solve the mystery.

Miss Marple appears as an inquisitive old woman, who can connect to the facts. The real crime story in which you will not find new technologies to support the investigation. The answer is possible thanks to logical thinking and knowledge of human nature.

In my opinion worth reading.

Be kind rewind

Directed by: Michel Gondry

Written by: Michel Gondry

Starring: Jack Black, Jasiin Bey, Dany Glover, Mia Farrow and more

All movies in a rental store are accidentally erased. In order to stay in business and do not let the owner down, store clerks decide to shoot movies by themselves. Their versions of the movies are hit! Scenes, where they’re trying to shoot their own versions of big hits, are hilarious. When clerks find out that building is in danger, they decide to shoot their own movie.

The movie is funny and warm. Main characters seem to be authentic. I am happy that I found this movie and watched it. I can strongly recommend it.

Music

Lorde – “Pure Heroine”

Release date: 2013

This is the debut album of New Zealand singer. It was released in 2013 by Universal Music. I approached this album doubtfully, but it turned out to be pleasant to the ear. Some songs turned out to be known, heard somewhere on the radio. Although it is not my type of music, this album gave me a pleasant surprise. In my opinion, the best songs are: “Royals” and “Tennis Court”.
